Hey everyone! I have not been posting for a while due to my busy schedule, however i’m back with a skincare review, a first ever on my blog!

I was introduced to Belif by my friend who had sensitive skin and really loved the brand. My first product was the best selling moisture bomb cream, and soon i fell in love with the brand – which led me to owning most of the skincare range 😀

I get all my products from thefaceshop.ca , they’re also available on Sephora U.S website and online stores like koreadepart and althea U.S! All products are made in South Korea.

Starting off my review by showcasing what i own – Witch Hazel Toner, Hungarian Water Essence, Moisture Bomb Cream, First Aid 350 Eye Mask, Moisturizing Firming Eye Cream, First Aid Overnight Brightening Mask, Peat Miracle Revital Eye Cream.

All belif products have a signature scent, which is in between citrus and herbal. Nothing too strong that irritated my skin tho!

Onto the swatches and finally on what i’d really recommend 🙂

Starting off my review by showcasing what i own – Witch Hazel Toner, Hungarian Water Essence, Moisture Bomb Cream, First Aid 350 Eye Mask, Moisturizing Firming Eye Cream, First Aid Overnight Brightening Mask, Peat Miracle Revital Eye Cream.

Witch Hazel Toner:

A very very hydrating toner meant for dry skin types. Thicker formulation than most toners, however it’s quite runny and it took about 1 min to absorb into my skin. The finish is a little dewy, provides great hydration. One of my favourite toners i own! 34CAD for 200ml, not too bad 😀

I was quite skeptical about belif toners as they all contained alcohol denat, including this one for dry skin. My skin is quite sensitive to alcohol, i get red patches when i use products that contain alcohol denat or ethanol. However, this toner did not irritate my skin after 2 weeks, and it does a ridiculously good job at providing hydration from any dry flakes after washing my face.

Rating: 5/5 a must have if you have dry skin.

Hungarian Water Essence:

“An instant, lightweight hydration serum that is powerfully effective for deep, lasting hydration.

Hungarian Water Essence recharges skin’s lost hydration back in an instant. This formula contains a blend of apothecary herbs, including rosemary and lavender—powerful hydrating and antioxidant agents. This ultra-light watery texture instantly glides onto skin to provide a burst of powerful moisture that penetrates the skin for long-lasting hydration, leaving the skin healthy-looking, soft, and supple.” – Belif Canada

I was intrigued by the formulation of this serum, it actually felt like water with a hint of starchiness, haha! I didn’t feel like this serum did much for my face, except for adding another layer of hydration. It’s not formulated to target any pigmentations or what not. For 51 CAD, i think you’ll be able to find cheaper serums or essences out there, like the COSRX snail mucin essence, which helped with fading my pimple scars. This could definitely work as a light weight moisturizer in the summer time!

Rating: 3/5, there are cheaper serums that are more effective out there!

The True Cream – Moisture Bomb

There are two types of true creams, aqua bomb (gel type for combo-oily skin types) and the moisture bomb.

“The True Cream Moisturizing Bomb is a comforting moisture cream that provides the skin with intense, soothing hydration. Clinically tested to provide up to 26 hours of moisture, this uniquely indulgent formula leaves skin soft, supple, and deeply moisturized. This formula contains a blend of apothecary herbs, including comfrey leaf, a powerful hydrating agent. The cushiony cream format is designed to ‘burst’ when applied, releasing a flood of moisture onto skin, and then absorb completely without stickiness for a healthy, smooth, supple appearance. The True Cream Moisturizing Bomb, continues to hold the position as the number one beauty product across all categories in Korea’s prestige beauty market (Based on 2013 and 2014 sales data compiled for the Sure Magazine Beauty Awards).”

I absolutely adore this cream. It definitely gives that ‘chok chok’ dewy finish right after applying, and absorbs into my skin well, leaving it extremely hydrated. It’s on the thicker side that feels really smooth once applied to face. This is one of the best face creams i’ve tried – my second: PyunKang Yul’s Nutrition Cream which has a similar texture. The claim that it provides 26 hours of moisture is not wrong! I use this as a night cream, and in the morning my skin feels still very hydrated and well nourished. This product has not given me any issues and i would recommend this to anyone looking for a moisturizing face cream that actually provides moisture 😀

Rating: 5/5 will repurchase!

First Aid 360 degree eye mask:

“Our belief to help relieve fatigue an boost resilience around the sensitive and delicate eye area. Formulated with mimosa extract and 3 Napier’s formulas, this eye care mask instantly cools and hydrates, creating a protective layer for a 360 degree eye care.”

I have always been a fan of eye creams, i have really dry skin around my eye area and i have to use eye cream every day (day and night). This eye mask was recently launched in the Canadian market and i knew i had to give it a shot! The texture was really cool, similar to a jello gel type cream, but melted into my eye area really well, providing hydration. It had a cooling sensation as well, however at 25ml for 39 CAD, i feel like it’s too small for that price tag! Dang i wished belif items were slightly cheaper. Overall i’d recommend this to oily – combo skinned as it did not really provide enough moisture for the night (i wear it during night time as a mask). I still use eye cream under this tho 🙂

Rating: 4/5

Moisturizing and Firming Eye Cream:

I received a sample size of this and i was surprised at how well it worked! The texture is quite thick, however it went on smoothly under my eyes and did not cause any irritation. I’m not sure about the firmness around my eye area, i just felt like it provided hydration and would be a good eye cream to splurge on. 59 CAD for 25ml.

Rating: 4/5

First Aid Overnight Brightening Mask:

“A brightening mask that can be left on overnight to reveal radiant skin by morning.

This creamy, lightweight brightening mask can be left on skin overnight to reveal a luminous, refreshed complexion. It’s formulated with black truffle extract, one of the world’s finest delicacies, and visible capsules of amber, pearl, and gold powder to awaken instant and visible luminosity. This versatile mask can also be used instead of a moisturizer in your usual skincare routine to give an additional boost of hydration and brightness to skin. overnight-brightening-mask.”

Along with the First Aid Eye Mask, there’s another addition to the family – an overnight brightening face mask! Oh my godddd, i did not have high hopes for this but i absolutely RECOMMEND THIS!!!!!!!!!! These were pictures taken the first time i’ve tried the mask. 39CAD for 50ml, WORTH!

Before: Sept 30th 11pm, redness and a little bit of breakouts around my cheek area

After: Oct 1st 11am, after washing my face with water these were the results.

Screen Shot 2017-10-01 at 8.13.28 PM

Evidence speaks for itself 😀 It contains gold flakes and went on just like the moisture bomb, extremely hydrating but sank into my skin really well. Calmed my redness so much and i was surprised those little red spots on my left cheek were almost gone when i woke up.

Rating: 5/5 MUST TRY!

Peat Miracle Revital Eye Cream:

The Peat line is new to The Face Shop as well, this comes with a hefty price tag of 71CAD for 25ml!!!!!!!! OMG. This cream better improve my eyesight too hahaha.

My honest opinion, this feels very similar to the moisturizing and firming eye cream, it has a thicker formulation tho which was easy to spread. I did not notice any changes in my dark eye circles, however my eye area felt much smoother and softer after using it for a week. I only have sample packets of this but a little goes a really long way!

Rating: 3/5 $$$ if you want to splurge, this is great for hydration!

Overall what i’d recommend from this line – a must try!

  • Witch Hazel Toner
  • Moisture Bomb
  • First Aid Brightening Overnight Mask

I have yet to try their other products such as their moisturizers and masks, but will save up for it and give another extensive review 😉
