My personal review on one of the most hit or miss products in the K-Beauty scene. Finally!

Claims:

Skin-brightening and smoothing serum delivers a steady stream of Vitamin C derivatives and green tea components to suppress melanin formation and lessen the appearance of freckles and other skin discolorations. Continued use considerably lightens skin and gives skin a taut appearance with a more refined texture. Skin appears visibly healthier and fairer after only a few days of use.

Made in Korea.

Price: $15-$16 CAD (depending on the store)

Ingredients to note:

Water, Butylene Glycol, Glycerin, Polyglutamic Acid, Ascorbyl Tetraisopalmitate, PEG-60 Hydrogenated Castor Oil, Camellia Sinensis Leaf Extract, Dipropylene Glycol, Ethyl Hexanediol, Ethylhexylglycerin, Carbomer, Triethanolamine, Acrylates/C10-30 Alkyl Acrylate Crosspolymer, Disodium EDTA, Fragrance

The ingredient list looks promising on its own, with Ascorbyl Tetraisopalmitate being the fourth ingredient. Camellia Sinensis Leaf Extract provides healing and soothing properties. There are no acne-triggering ingredients.

Ascorbyl Tetraisopalmitate is an oil soluble derivative of Vitamin C that can be used in larger amounts. Prolonged usage may help lighten pigmentation and brighten skin tone.

The product comes in 3 sizes, a mini sample size that I got with my purchase, 30ml and 60ml.

A very fancy screw top bottle with a dropper for easy access. There is a slight bent to the end of the dropper which is very helpful to get all the product out when it’s almost done.

I absolutely love the texture of this serum. Extreme lightweight consistency and it gets absorbed easily without being greasy. Gives off a really nice, healthy glow. A light citrusy scent, but nothing too overpowering.

I have been using this for about a month or so, my first purchase of this serum was in Singapore, where I really needed something not greasy, due to the humidity. I had past scarring and new pigmentation that I wanted to get rid of ASAP.

About a month in use, most of my scarring has faded well, still in progress, however I could tell the difference. I use it twice a day, morning and night, after my toner. No new breakouts since, or any allergic reactions. Skin is definitely smoother and brighter, living up to its claims.

Reminder to layer on that SPF. Everyday 😉

Honestly speaking, I was not expecting much given the price tag. It is surprisingly, extremely affordable for a Vitamin C serum. It provides adequate hydration to my combination skin. Enough for both my oily T-zone and the rest of my face, which is pretty much desert dry.

Comparing it to Melano CC, which is also loved by many, this serum does not have an oily/sticky finish. Which I appreciate, as Melano broke me out terribly.

I love this so much, I got the supersize version in 60ml. A major hit for me!

Looking to try out other It’s Skin serums as this amazing product surpassed my expectations. If you’re looking for a new vitamin C serum, give this one a try.
